R4 Chat is a technical intermediary service platform (API aggregation platform). In terms of data processing, we play the following roles:

  • For Account Data: R4 Chat is the data controller, responsible for your account information, payment information, etc.
  • For AI Interaction Data: R4 Chat acts only as a data transmission conduit, passing your inputs to third-party AI service providers. Third-party AI service providers are the actual processors of this data

When you use AI chat features, your input content is sent directly to third-party AI service providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, etc.). These providers process your data according to their respective privacy policies. R4 Chat is not responsible for third-party data processing activities.

1. Introduction

This privacy policy ("Policy") describes how R4 Chat ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information of users of this website, R4 Chat (the "Site"), as well as associated products and services (together, the "Services"), and applies to personal information that we collect through the Site and our Services as well as personal information you provide to us directly.

Please note that by using the Site or the Services, you accept the practices and policies described in this Policy and you consent that we will collect, use, and share your personal information as described below. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use the Site or the Services.

R4 Chat acts only as a technical transmission conduit in this process and does not control, store (except for conversation history features), or process this interaction data.

You are responsible for reading and understanding the privacy policy of any third-party AI service before using it. R4 Chat assumes no responsibility for the data processing activities of third-party AI service providers.

4.2 Your Responsibility for Third-Party Data Sharing

You understand and agree that:

  1. Active Sharing: When you use AI chat features, you actively choose to send data to third-party AI service providers
  2. Choice: You may choose not to use specific AI service providers, thereby avoiding sharing data with that provider
  3. Risk Assumption: Your decision to share data with third-party AI service providers and its consequences are your sole responsibility
  4. No Recourse: Once data is sent to a third-party AI service provider, R4 Chat cannot control the subsequent processing of that data, and you may not hold R4 Chat liable for the data processing activities of third parties

4.3 Corporate Restructuring

We may share some or all of your personal information in connection with or during negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition or dissolution, transaction or proceeding involving the sale, transfer, divestiture, or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets.

4.4 Other Disclosures

We may disclose your personal information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary for any of the following:

  • In connection with any legal investigation
  • To comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants served on us

5.2.2 Deletion Timeline

  • Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will complete deletion within 15 business days
  • Backup data will be cleared within 30 days
  • You will be notified by email once deletion is complete

5.2.3 Cases Where Deletion May Not Be Possible

We may be unable or unwilling to delete your personal information in the following circumstances:

  1. Directly related to national security or defense security
  2. Legal retention period has not expired
  3. Deletion would harm the legitimate rights of others
  4. Evidence needs to be retained for your breach or illegal activities

6. Data Retention

In accordance with applicable regulations, including the Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services for Chinese citizens, we do not illegally retain users' input information and usage records.

We only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required or permitted by law. When we no longer need to use your personal information, we will delete it from our systems and records or take steps to anonymize it.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

We may periodically send you free newsletters and e-mails that directly promote the use of our Site or Services. 8. Cross-Border Data Transfers

To provide you with AI chat services, we need to transfer some of your personal information overseas for processing. These transfers primarily occur in the following situations:

  • AI Model Processing: When you use AI chat features, your input content is sent to the respective AI provider's servers for processing, which may be located in the United States or other countries/regions.
  • Cloud Service Hosting: Some of our infrastructure services may be hosted by cloud service providers located in different countries/regions.

8.2 Types of Data Transferred

Personal information that may be transferred overseas includes:

  • Text content you input in chats
  • Files you upload (such as images, PDFs, etc.)
  • Your IP address and device information

8.3 Protection Measures

We take reasonable measures to ensure that your personal information is adequately protected during transfer, including:

  • Entering into agreements containing data protection clauses with third-party service providers
  • Using TLS/SSL encryption technology to protect data in transit

  4. You may withdraw this consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of data processing activities conducted based on your consent prior to withdrawal

If you do not consent to cross-border data transfers, please do not use the AI chat features of the Services. You may still use other features of the Services that do not involve cross-border transfers (if any).

9. Security

R4 Chat is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

  • Passwords: Secure hashing algorithms
  • Access control: Strict permission management
